Diogo is a very skilled guitar builder who works with European woods– so lots of experience with wood, something I don’t know much about, but one can always learn from the masters, right?

By a warm campfire by the lake, Diogo showed me step by step how to get started- and I tried the ax and knives to slowly shape the spoon. As a beginner, it takes a lot of focus to keep the hands safe and to keep an eye on the shape but at the same time, it’s relaxing to slowly get that shape out of a raw block of wood.
