Experimenting with collage

Last month, on Tj’s Patreon, we experimented with collage. For years I’ve been keeping all kinds of silly scraps for when I’d ever be into collage, but of course, I threw them all out during a spring clean earlier this year. Oh well, I’m surrounded by enough paper and art materials to keep myself busy for the rest of my life 🙂
Sometimes, trying something or different new can feel overwhelming and like a whole lot of work. And something like collage is simply not happening. If I don’t have a specific purpose or image in mind, I don’t get out all the scraps and scissors etc. Proving me wrong time and time again is something I love about the Patreon sessions. In 3 sessions of about one hour each, we all made so many images and progress! (I just noticed I didn’t scan the 3rd underwater session, so they might still be under the woodblock to flatten)
One of the sessions was a late evening at the kitchen table, and for materials, I had a few sheets of painted paper, Neocolors, and scissors. They say ‘time flies when you’re having fun,’ but it’s also incredible how much we get done together.
