Some recent sketches
It looks like I haven’t shared much of my sketchbook recently, but I have been drawing and painting a lot.
– I’ve had an A3 Royal Talens sketchbook for over a year- and for some reason I rarely reach for it. This autumn I noticed that it’s a super nice size for sketching with acrylic or acrylic gouache paints.
– I’ve finished one tiny sketchbook, and started another one. For a bit I was wondering if I should continue with these A6 Royal talens sketchbooks or switch to a small Pith. I like the paper of the Royal talens, they work great with markers, they are budget friendly, and the hardcover is robust enough to be carried around in my daily bag, dog walks, and during travel. I’m just a bit too precious about the Piths to drag them around no matter the weather.
– For autumn/winter, I’m joining less Patreon sessions. Mostly because I have a few deadlines, but winter also comes with low energy days, sparse sunlight, and struggles to get as much as possibly done within a few hours of daylight. I don’t want to fight the seasons but take on the advice and slow down, and make more time for instrospection and planning.
– Part of that returning to my own curiosity, I’m working on a new zine series about the seasons.
And while I’m writing this, it’s getting dark again outside my window. I’ll light some more candles!
